Seasons Introduction

That’s a lot of features considering there are different seasons that you can experience in the game. We have Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter and those provide you with different sceneries, as well as possible Holidays. Not only do you get to experience the changes in your environment according to the season, but you’ll get access to the following items:

Create a Sim Items: Customizing your Sim’s looks was already quite expansive when playing the base game of the Sims. With this expansion, you’ll get more looks that you can get from creating your Sim which include different hairstyles, and clothing items. The styles that you can get are all season and Weather themed such as beach outfits for summer, raincoats and boots during the rainy spring, or even thick warm clothing for the upcoming fall and winter months.

Build Mode Items: With the inclusion of different looks for your Sims, you’ll also get Build Mode items that you can use to decorate your home just in time for the different Holiday features that you can get to experience. There are items that provide you with aesthetic changes such as Christmas decorations, or even Halloween ones which will match the current season.

The new items that you have obtained can be daunting at first since there are a lot of mixing and matching that you can do in order to have certain looks. If you have purchased the Seasons Expansion, you’ll be provided with an overview of these key features when you start the game as seen in the image. So, what do these mean once you start the game? Let’s discuss each of the key features in the expansion so you’ll be able to see what’s in store for you once you play.

Experience impactful Weather As the expansion name implies, you’ll get to experience different weather changes throughout your game and experience changing seasons. The environment can provide you with weather relating to Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter. You’ll be able to see colors of the leaves change, and experience changes to the climate such as the hot and cold.

Not only are these aesthetic changes, but the different weathers can provide you with new interactions for your Sims. You can let them enjoy the rain and snow, or have different activities relating to the Weather. You’ll have to be careful about the extremities of the temperature though since this can have an impact to your Sim’s lifespan.

Revel in seasonal activities Since the changes in Weather will provide you with different environments, your Sims will be able to make new interactions based on that current season. For example, Spring provides rainy days a lot therefore you can provide your Sims with clothing such as rain gear and let them play during the rain. Other obvious examples are during winter months where snow will cover the surroundings, therefore you’ll be able to experience interactions where you can create a snow man.

These new interactions will only appear on their corresponding Season, so they’ll provide you with new ways for your Sims to have different experiences based on the environment. Some skills can be learned as well during these activities, so knowing which Season they can do so will be handy.

Celebrate the Holidays Very much like in real life where we get to spend different holidays based on the Season, this expansion also provides you with different holidays that your Sims can experience. With the addition of new items in the game, you can provide your Sims with specific seasonal attires as well as decorate their homes for specific holidays.

A new Calendar feature is added in Seasons that lets you see upcoming Holidays for your Sims. This way, you can update the looks of your Sims and their home in order to prepare for the upcoming festivities. The Calendar also provides you with functions for custom celebrations that you can have on any season that you like so you can get as wild as you like with your ideas.

Grow your gardening career The base game of the Sims 4 doesn’t have any Gardening option as a career, but you can have it as a skill. However, thanks to the Seasons expansion, your Sim can now have Gardening as a career full time! You’ll also gain access to new aspirations thanks to this career which will provide you with new challenges relating to gardening.

With the changing Seasons, you’ll need to be wary of the plants that you grow since there can be different effects that can occur. This career provides you with new locations as well that you can go to such as the gardening center.
